Well hello there! It's been a while.
(Insert random excuse for long absence here. Go ahead, I don't mind.)
We are still adjusting to life in Minnesota, and one way we did that was buying a cabin in Wisconsin this past February. Trust me, that makes perfect sense.
Our sweet little place is on this lovely private, no-wake lake that we spent all summer swimming and fishing in. I'll post more about our cabin later. (Promise.)
Now that it's considerably colder (hello -50 and two extra days of Winter Break), we've been doing what every other fool from these parts does this time of year:
Playing, walking, sledding and sliding around on the frozen lake. It's still a totally foreign concept for this born-and-raised California girl.
We have just recently passed the three-year anniversary of our move to Minnesota. And we're still very pleased with our new lives here. It's been a bit tough making friends, but we're getting there.
My Etsy shop is doing well, and I'm so happy about that. I had a second shop that sold vintage sheet fabric in fat quarters and pre-cuts, but I had a tough time juggling two shops, three kids, two houses, one husband and our partridge in our pear tree, so I closed that one. And I really enjoy the chances I get now and then to work on custom projects. A sweet gal from Texas got in touch about some items she wanted for a playhouse they were putting together for their little girl for Christmas. I made an apron, a sink skirt, a bunting and a towel. Here's some photos of how things turned out:
Doesn't this little sweetie look thrilled with her new digs? To see more of her playhouse, go take a look!
And, as a last update for now, I am in a band now! I'm one of two voices in a group called "Slapdash" and we're coming up on our second show this Friday! It's tons of fun and I really love my bandmates. We met on Craigslist, of all places. You can find us of Facebook!
So that's it for now. Hopefully I'll be back soon, as in sometime in the next two years or so. =)
